Forecast Snow Stability: Windslab will be present in wind sheltered locations above 900 metres on South-West through West to North aspects. These accumulations will continue to consolidate in the mild temperatures and be generally well bonded. Isolated wet snow surface instabilities will develop during the daytime and where present cornices will be fragile. At lower altitudes snow will mostly overlie bare ground. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Largely dry overnight and during the morning with some rain falling at all levels during the afternoon. Winds will be South-Westerlies, moderate overnight, gaining in strength to become strong by the end of the period. The freezing level will be around the highest summits overnight, rising from early morning to above 2000 metres by the evening. Observed Weather Influences: A dry day after overnight precipitation. Winds were moderate to fresh South-Westerlies. The freezing level was above the highest summits. ObservedSnowStability: Snow cover is present on most aspects above 800 metres, with new snow overlying bare ground at lower altitudes. Windslab accumulations are present in wind sheltered locations mainly on South-West through West to North aspects above 900 metres. These accumulations are generally well bonded and stable. The avalanche hazard is Low.
