Avalanche Summary

Look for and avoid isolated areas of firm, drifted snow on shady, high-elevation slopes. If you find snow that is supportive and hollow or that cracks beneath your weight, you could trigger a small avalanche. Most other slopes are safe from avalanches due to very thin snow coverage.
