Forecast Snow Stability: There will be a shallow covering of new snow above 200 metres. Drifting snow will lead to the development of moderately bonded windslab in steep sheltered locations, mainly on East to South aspects, generally above 700 metres Coire rims, gullies and ridge flanks will mostly be affected. Exposed windward areas will be scoured. The old snow patches will be refrozen and very firm. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.
Forecast Weather Influences: Wintry showers will persist throughout the period, with snow initially lying around 200 metres, lowering to glen level later as the freezing level lowers in the afternoon. There will be a fresh North-West wind, gradually strengthening through the period. Observed Weather Influences: Slow moving scattered wintry showers, some prolonged, throughout the day, with new snow lying above around 400 metres. Fresh North-West wind. The freezing level was around 400 metres. ObservedSnowStability: There is a dusting of new snow on all aspects above 400 metres, mostly lying on bare ground, with shallow accumulations developing on wind sheltered South-East aspects. Exposed windward terrain is scoured. The patches of old snow are refrozen and firm. The avalanche hazard is Low.
