New snow
- Above treeline
Natural wet avalanches and moist slab avalanches are the main danger.
Natural wet avalanches and moist slab avalanches are the main danger.
The wind slabs of recent weeks can be released by a single winter sport participant in isolated cases in particular on wind-protected shady slopes above approximately 3000 m. The new snow can be released naturally in all aspects above approximately 2600 m. As the day progresses especially below approximately 2700 m there will be a gradual increase in the danger of wet avalanches.
In particular adjacent to ridgelines as well as at high altitudes and in high Alpine regions sometimes avalanche prone wind slabs formed. The surface of the snowpack is not frozen and will already be soft in the early morning. In all aspects and on steep sunny slopes medium-sized wet avalanches are possible as the day progresses as a consequence of the rain.
