Of note: resort had 3” dust on crust in most areas, steeper terrain was harder to ski in morning with ice underneath, more deposited storm slab snow then anticipated in south back, warming rollerballs in silver basin, slabs broke on steep slopes 40-50 degrees, silver basin and fine forest skied without incident approx 8-10” fresh snow. Rollerballs will probably refreeze tonight. No firm ice detected on north face of king.

Avalanche

3ea D1.5-1.0 avalanches, 2pm 1. approx at upper left brain damage chute propagated 14”-16” deep x 20’ wide x 30’ length, large blocks broke off and dissipated as they accelerated down the chute and around the corner. Slab was triggered on second ski cut jump turn. 2. Another slab fractured then halted in adjacent chute, approx 12” deep x 8’ length crack 3. Convex roll broke and fanned out 6”-8” deep x 40’ length and combined with slough. .
