Quick report

Checked out the Commonwealth basin for the first time this season. Stepped out of the car to S1 snowfall, which tapered throughout the day to intermittent S-1. Started in ski boots, able to get on skis fairly early. 5cms of wet and heavy new snow, 15cms of low density by the top of cave ridge. HS as follows: 3600 - 50cm 3900 - 75cm 5200 - 120cm No avalanche activity observed on the W facing terrain of Red, S facing terrain of Lundin, or E/SE facing terrain on Snoqualmie. Dug a pit on a NE aspect. No propagation. Crust matrix to keep an eye on around 85-95cm up. Also, sensitive interface near the top of the pack @ 132cm up. Cost of entry and exit is high, with treed terrain harboring 20-30cms of snow at the most. Great skiing and riding up high!
