Quick report
Today we travelled to the Morrell Peak area from Richs Ranch. We rode up to the yurts around 7,000 ft, and skinned up to the peak around 8,000 ft. It was warm and sunny today with light winds. We saw signs of wet loose activity through the day on SE-SW slopes. We dug many quick hand outs throughout the day. Buried surface hoar that formed during the January drought was prevalent on all terrain shaded from the sun, and buried 4-8 inches down. Our tests showed easy results on this SH, but the slab was not hard enough to propagate. Our N aspect pit had a thin facet layer around the Christmas crust (2.5 ft down) that was unreactive in an ECT, but failed halfway up the block during a PST.
