Quick report

Went on a short ski tour on the East side of Lost Cannon. Through the trees was nice soft snow and when starting my ascent noticed there was a 1-2cm sun crust layer when in the open. Temperature was about 35F with winds gusting from the South at 25mph. Dug a pit at the bottom of the open area. Couple areas of note are two ice crust layers (56cm and 88cm), and Q1 failure around 10cm (depth hoar) at CT25. Understand that there is still a Fist hardness underneath a stable snowpack when traveling the area. After my pit, continued to skin up the East side with no visual cues of an unstable snowpack.
