60 cm of new snow at 6400ft on a North Aspect. protected north facing terrain had an obvious weak bed surface you could feel when skinning and with a pole depth check. It was easy to break through a soft crust into hollow sugary snow below. Performed an ECT and to our surprise only had an ECTN 26. No propagation across the whole column. Just a collapse about halfway across the block down 75cm on old facets. Didn’t see any activity or collapsing related to the weak sugary bed surface surprisingly. Not to rule that out all as the issue seems to be extremely variable. We did see touchy wind slabs at the ridgeline. A small slab released after hearing an audible whomp. It was 10x 15’ It remotely triggered another larger pocket 50x 10’ about 40’ away without a connected crown between the two slabs
