- Cracking, Collapsing
Shallow snowpack with weak facets lent itself nicely to collapsing especially in rocky terrain. Ridges and open west facing slopes that were exposed to wind developed a nice medium density slab about 3" deep. We did kick off a small cornice to test the slab, the cornice slide but did not start a slide or sluff--just rolled down the slope.
