Quick report

Toured up to 7100' on Stahl Peak in the Northern Whitefish Range. We were greeted by 2 inches of new snow to start the day. This sluffed on small test slopes in the morning. We skied a steep north aspect, by the time we skied the line around 2pm the new snow had turned heavier and did not sluff on our ski line - a welcome surprise. Steep terrain across all aspects has avalanche debris in run-outs from the recent warm spell. We skied conservatively into the lower portion of our line and felt plenty of frozen debris beneath the new snow. Intermittent snow throughout the day added another 2 inches on our skintrack on the exit with heavy snowfall as we were leaving. It was snowing down to the trailhead on our exit.
