Toured up Ravens Ridge to a highpoint of 2400'. Once we got up on the ridge at 2250' on a shaded north aspect in the trees we started experiencing sudden collapsing and shooting cracks that shot out about 30'. Some cracks triggered up to 50 feet ahead of us. We stopped and dug a pit and found large BSH about 30cm down. Our ECT failed and propagated at 4 taps! We experienced no instabilitys touring up the south west side of the ridge in the sun. On this aspect quick hand pits that we dug found the BSH also about a foot down. The BSH here was much much smaller and no where near as feathery as in the other pit. Skied low angle south west facing terrain out. Skied amazing!
