Today we observed reactive windslabs above treeline. We experienced whoompfing and shooting cracks. Our two compression tests resulted in easy sudden planar fractures down 26cm in the storm snow. Our ect did not fully propagate.
Avalanche
In aiare 2 course. We belayed a skier down to trigger a windslab D1-1.5 on NNE aspect above treeline. 40cm crown approximately 70m wide.
