Snowpack

Snow surface ranged from 20cm loose snow in valley bottom to windboard in south fork saddle with everything in between. Isolated patches of 5cm breakable crust. Loose snow that fell during precip event on 11/22 and later faceted made for pleasant turns on lower slopes. Did pit at 3343ft near the base and on the NE side of Avalnche Gully (profile attached). Found F faceting stellers on surface overlying mixed layers of pencil slab and faceting rounds. Temp gradient at pit site was 1.6C/10cm depth so enough? to cause faceting within snowpack. Got CT15 @ 45cm at faceted snow/slab interface and ECTP16@0cm, collapsing on faceted snow at base of snowpack. Entire snowpack popped out with some energy (pic). Pit done by Gianotti and Sauer on Pk 3 the same day showed roughly a similiar snowpack.
