I observed a skier drop into a convex section of relay ridge. A slab avalanche broke below him but he was able to arrest New snow of approximately 8 inches and significant wind loading on the face. New storm layer consolidated rather quickly, significant wind loading on ridges above treeline.
Avalanche
Skier triggered triggered storm slab avalanche below them on east facing Relay Peak at approximately 10200 feet (39.3140764, -119.9467034) on 2/18. Skier was able to stop himself and was not carried by the avalanche. Crown was approximately 8 inches in height and 40 feet in width
