Sundown tour wx obs. Moist, warm clouds hanging in valley bottoms, with a variable stratus deck perched above. Intermittent periods of light graupel/rimed stellars, there may have been some ambient moisture from the air getting sucked into the snowpack from these clouds.
Snowpack
Continuing to add some surface complexity; periods of sun and warm temps this afternoon put a crust on S-SW, this was not present in shaded locations on those aspects. I experienced widespread cracking and collapsing of the snowpack, with collapses traveling hundreds of feet. I collapsed most slopes that I traveled on . Visibility was limited, but I did observe some pesistent slab activity in sheltered middle elevation terrain across the street on the Owl/Coyote divide.
