On our ascent we noticed cracking in the top foot of new snow when breaking trail with propagation not beyond 2 feet. On our descent, our party triggered two avalanches. The first was triggered at a shallow rock in buried beneath the new snow. It propagated 30 feet and slid 50 feet over rocks. The snow was soft and did not slide in a cohesive slab beyond the initial trigger. The bed surface was the old snow as a hard crust. The second avalanche propagated 50 feet and slid about 200 feet. Similar bed surface with exposed rocks to the first avalanche.

It was snowing for the majority of our tour off and on, with high winds tapering off as the day progressed. Significant snow transport was observed in wind prone areas sometimes scoured down to the old snow surface.
