Quick observation from our snowpit showed more of the same; problematic structure with a stiffening slab over the very impressive JDL, and propagating test results in multiple large column tests. See Snowpack sections for details.

Gorgeous day. Sunny, mild, and light to moderate ridgeline winds.
Snowpack
Snowpit on an wind-exposed slope just below ridgeline. Northeast aspect 6680'.
Though the steep slopes below us are mitigated terrain, we presume the upper portion of this slope where the slope angle is low is mostly unmitigated.
ECTP21 x3 down 59 cm on the JDL. In one test, a crack also propagated on the same tap down 40 cm on the 2/14.
The surface hoar on the JDL was truly massive. 20-30 mm.
Slab was 1F to 1F+, with a bit of wind effect on the surface.
Crust below the 2/14 was very brittle/insignificant. Crust below the JDL was stout.
