Quick report

We originally intended to ski Magnum, but the existing glide cracks had propagated into one massive crack across the entire face of Magnum, so we went after Goldpan. As we traversed below Cornbiscuit we observed probably a dozen glide cracks, along with a release on the southwest face and this larger release on the south face.

Avalanche released midway up the south aspect of Cornbiscuit and travelled all the way to the valley bottom. The crown looked to be over 100’ wide and it ripped out to the ground. Debris fields at the bottom were 10+ feet deep and also about 100’ wide. Looked like it was likely a glide crack that ripped out as there were dozens all over the south aspects of Cornbiscuit, Magnum and into Goldpan.
