Avalanche

Our group of four toured into promise land below the north face of Mt Diamond. By 10:30am we reached the bergschrund, but visibility was worsening with clouds shrouding the peak. We transitioned to bootpack below the lookers right couloir of the face. Approx. 300 vertical ft above the schrund the leader on the bookpack triggered a windslab to release. Elev: 5,500 feet; aspect: NE. 9inch crown; 40ft wide and ran over the berschrund. The last two on the bootpack self-arrest. The last person on the bootback slide ~10 vertical ft before arresting. Transitioned and skied from avy release point.
