Quick report

We observed no signs of instability during our tour Everything was refrozen except in and near the trees At 5000 ft (11:00) on a NW aspect our boot penetration was 1 cm, height of snow (HS) was 225cm, water percolated to 60cm in the snow pack At the same location had light snow (S1), calm winds, overcast sky’s and a temperature of 1 degree celsius We skied on a south aspect and found a melt freeze crust on the surface receiving some solar input On a south aspect at 4600 our height of snow (HS) was 160cm, calm winds, scattered sky’s (half covered) and no precipitation On the same aspect we did find some avalanche debris of some wet loose slides that looked like a couple to a few days old. We couldn’t see any crowns from above
