Quick report

Great visibility…fair quality snowmobiling. Able to side hill yet sometimes difficult as the uphill ski would submerge deep into the hot snow that was getting very soft. Wet loose activity was increasing...We were surprised to see less activity than we had expected...this was likely from the snow surface staying maybe 10 or more degrees cooler than the air temps overnight.

Small, D-1 to D-1.5 wet loose avalanches from Sun and heat on East and North aspects....increasing numbers through the afternoon.

Very warm day with intense solar gain. Calm winds with upslope light winds occasionally. Runnels from the rain on snow visible on the surface.

Snowpack

Stable-right side up dense snowpack with a surface crust that was still able to form overnight despite above freezing temps. Saturation in the upper snowpack was most obvious in the upper 10cm however the upper foot was damp and more damp on solar.
