Quick report
Close to all-time conditions yesterday skiing the knob at Gash, one might argue it was ALL-time! Temps remained cold and winds remained calm all day, it was snowing lightly much of the day with maybe 1-2" of accumulation. The new snow from the big storm was still not affected where we traveled, and we didn't observe any loading or transport. We dug once just before the steep roll climbing at the base of the knob; HS 120 cm, ECTX. The pack was right side up, coherent, and lacked obvious weak layers. We broke our way to near the top, to about 8,200', without any cracking/collapsing. The skiing was astral!
