Quick report
Attempted a tour up Hidden Lake Peaks but was thwarted by a surprising lack of snow. There was approximately a foot of new snow at 3000’ on top of a nonexistent base which precluded the use of the winter route that diverges from the road at this point. We continued up the road to the summer trail which we followed to 4300’ but travel conditions in the trees remained challenging with HS of ~1.5’, not nearly enough to cover logs. Coverage was slightly better in open areas with HS ~2.5’. All of this to say, this zone will need a couple of more storms to make access feasible.
