Quick report

About 18-24” of fresh snow at and below pan point. Above it was variable because of wind effect. Wind on the upper mountain was blowing from north to south all day, pretty calm at 9.5k and below. Essentially zero signs avalanche activity on the east facing slopes below the turtle which surprised me. A few point releases here and there on the mountain, but nothing major aside from the one mentioned above. Pan face was fine, and a couple skiers took the Nisqually chutes.

Avalanche

Not sure who this’ll help, but there was a massive crown, visible from paradise, stretching across nearly the entire upper kautz glacier.
