New snow was soft and stable on supportive lower layers through paradise valley up to panorama face. Pan Face and higher were strewn with wind loaded scours and pillows, with a slab consistently throughout, which we were able to release from underlying layers while skinning up. The knobs just above pan face saw constant release of this 4" layer, with a sturdier crust just underneath, which made for sporty skinning conditions. These conditions continued as far as we made it today (mixed with the usual snowfield ice/crust). We witnessed a D3ish slide on the cliffbands above Nisqually from a few hundred feet above the sugarloaf before vis clamped down and we turned towards the car.

Witnessed A D3 slide let go from the cliffs above the Nisqually/Wilson Glacier. Slide ran several hundred feet before coming to a stop above the Nisqually/Wilson Glacier.
