no signs of instability until 5500 feet then we Observed fine cracks well above the skin track. Hand shear shows weakness over the crust layer about 8" down. 2 large collapses , one may have been the avy set off by the other party. . We were a couple of ridges over from the Jim hill summit and did not observe the slide.we opted to not gain the Ridgeline and skied down for 2 laps
