Slide released behind skier as they ski cut off of slope. Skier was not caught.
Forecaster Comments: this is labeled as an intentional avalanche- but anytime an avalanche releases in a way you didn't intend it too could it not be considered an unintentional avalanche (food for thought)? This happened almost 20 years ago (at time of entry) and ski cutting is still something that can be consequential. The other unique thing about this slide is that it is entered into the database as occurring on a 32° slope and of note is that there were numerous avalanches occurring on buried facets all over the Northwest aspect of Gobblers Knob around a similar time frame.
