Elevation

Observed several collapses with the new snow on low angle open slopes, often in small pockets near shallow rock layers and microterrain features. Was able to ski trigger a small slab from below on a 35-40 degree N facing slope at about 9500'. The crown broke below some exposed rocks about 40 ft across, but ran less than a foot. Slab depth was ~10" and failed on the old snow interface. Once there is enough snow at Tony Grove for snowmobile access, these slopes will become sensitive trigger spots to keep an eye on.
