Quick report
- Cracking
- specific
Instabilities today were primarily driven by the strong winds and wind slab formation. Strong southwest wind and lots of low-density snow available for transport lead to the significant development of fresh slabs on N-E aspects and cross-loading in gullies.
There are still lingering facets near the ground and the same crust/facet combination I noted yesterday above Lost Trail at the upper elevation, but they were unreactive today. The persistent weak layers seem to have better adjusted to the added load in the past 24 hours.
