Quick report

We toured into Big Easy bowl today.  Parking just below the Leavitt Lake turn off below gate 3 (which is closed).  Warm day with lots of solar influence early,  a light breeze and poor night time recovery (above freezing temperatures).

North facing slopes were soft but manageable. 6-8 cm of ski penetration during the down ski with lots of roller ball activity.  Top of the ridge, snow pack was hollow and isothermal. Ski penetrating down to rock. Easier and safer to just take skis off and walk on dirt.

Ski out was sticky and slow. Lots of snow melt the past few days. Hopefully snow melt slows a bit with cloud cover this week and chance of snow/rain.  If not the great Sierra corn season will be over very quickly!

Loose Wet avalanches are possible on solar afternoon aspects.  Stay aware and ski early!
