We set out today to dig around in the snow and see what the new snow was doing. I was putting a skin track in on the windward side of the ridge and it was rather scoured. There were two ridges that met at the trigger point and it was loaded. I thought I was high enough above the steep part of the slope that it wouldn't release, but I triggered it. It failed on facets (on the ground) and was a hard slab at the failure location.
