Quick report
Other signs of instability along the trail included rollers and post holing in the afternoon as the snow got really wet and heavy up by the lake. We were cautious and traveled back in the morning while the snowpack was more stable.
Avalanche
There was a new avalanche that happened on top of a month-old avalanche along the crescent creek trail. It was not there when we backpacked in Friday, but was there when we backpacked out today (Sunday). Brand new snow went over the old avalanche but did not reach all the way to the creek. Strong winds came through Saturday moving the snow around the valley in the area so caution will be needed crossing the avalanche chutes on the trail especially as temps rise in the afternoons.
