Overall, we conducted one test pit with results reflecting poor structure, moderate strength and low to moderate propagation propensity. Winds were gusting along upper ridge of Agassiz/Rustler until 11am, with unknown windloading potential. Temperatures were producing point releases within isolated areas due to elevated temperatures/sun affect by 2-4pm.

30-35F Moderate NE winds which shifted to NW within Big Bowl by 1400. Clear No precip observed, Rime melting from previous 48 hours.
Snowpack
Snow Surface: Wind stiffened 4F-1F in specific aspects (NE-N-NW-W), with no sun crust observed throughout tour. Tracks from patrons were being filled in due to moderate wind with sporadic gusts. Overall, the snowpack is continuing to be highly variable in depth, structure and contiguous layers in micro and macro terrain. Snowpack depths range between 20-80cm with wind loaded galleys, catchments and drainages range between 100-150cm. Exposed outcroppings and ridges are continuing to be compeltely scoured to talus/rock. Small column testing reflected resistant fracture character and identified density changes between previous storm interfaces and the recent storm 4-6 days ago. Large column testing reflected moderate strength and low to moderate propagation propensity. ECTs identified a 4F DF layer of concern that is sitting above a MF crust, which is a layer to track in the future. Though wind slabs were identified and tested in hasty travelling tests, they are acting stubborn to fracture and often localized in nature within our limited route. The threshold of the DF and facets within the midpack could be tested with this next round of storms.
