What a great day to be out in the mountains! My partner and I skied canyon laps until the Flower Point chair closed today and observed no signs of instability. Next, we took a long walk to exit the ski area heading South down ridges and skiing southerly aspects. By this point the forecasted weak Arctic mass had entered the area and chilly E winds started blowing. We observed some snow transport but no slab formation (yet?). While skinning a steeper convexity on a W aspect we heard one small collapse and saw one 8ish ft. shooting crack emanating from the skinner - these were our only observed signs of instability today.
