Quick report
As part of an IPAC class our group visited several areas around the Goose Peak/Sunset Peak area including the Sunset Snotel and NE side of Sunset Peak via Tamarack Saddle. Surface hoar was observed at elevations ranging from 5300' to 6200' on S, SE, E, NE, and N aspects. Hasty pits as well as couple of full depth pits show a crust layer, approximately 20~30cm thick with faceting developing in the snowpack.
