Quick report

Cracking
isolated

D2 slab avalanche released ~20 feet of skier’s left after dropping into the bowl on Ball Butte. Cracking appeared above the crown, which was likely 1.5 feet tall. Slide path probably 50 feet wide. Wind loading on the ridge with poor adherence along cliff bands likely contributors. No release occurred above my line, but release occurred halfway through my descent, roughly 20 feet to skiers left.
