Quick report

We travelled between 8:30am and 12:30pm. Warm temps throughout the day, skiing up out of the Source Lake Basin to the Divide we found a sun crust that was easily breakable. At the Divide, on more Northern aspects we found unconsolidated snow that made for enjoyable skiing. No signs of instability. Even on Northern aspects (NE) tree bombs were going off and roller balls were apparent from them and rocky areas. When we made our exit back down to the basin the snow was notably softer and heavier from the sun exposure.

Avalanche

Source Lake Basin and surrounding areas Many wet loose slides from yesterday near rocky areas and steep terrain Observed wet loose avalanches over cliff bands between Bryant Peak and Chair Peak, between D1-2 and carried a lot of snow over the cliffs.
