Quick report
It's a different world out on Mt Hood after the heatwave. Lots of snow melt on the westerly aspects. You won't be able to avoid the dry patches as you gain the ridge "ski crampons work good on dirt too :D" Once on the ridge the snow stared to soften this was by 09:30. Calm winds and sunny skies made good skiing conditions. Boot pen never got deeper than 5 cm. The snow bridges that cover the creek crossings in Heather canyon are starting to crack and collapse. Currently it still goes, but for how much longer?
