Quick report

Dug a pit at around 6100' just below the ridge crest on a NE aspect. 90cm snowpack depth with one icy crust 40cm down; F hard snow for the first 15cm and then 4F down to the crust. ECTN on a 60cm wide column, although the upper F-hard layer did "pooch" out under the shovel blade at 6 elbow taps (but did not propagate across). Visual evidence of wind action along the ridge line. Skied one short lap off the ridge after the pit, a couple laps of Bullion Bowl (N line off Bullion Peak), and Solar Slab. No instability observed. Early season conditions abound — thin coverage, open creeks (even along the Bullion Basin approach trail), blowdowns. Bottom of Solar Slab was thin and sharky. Purposefully ascended to Platinum and descended by Solar Slab to avoid conditions on the ascent trail closer to Bullion Basin.
