The Knob - Mores Creek Summit

Skied The Knob approaching via Pilot Peak up route and returning via Summit Creek up route, skiing cautiously. Snowfall rates increased throughout the day, with light to moderate winds. The snow is denser at lower elevations and lighter at higher elevations. We traveled through deep new snow, wind-scoured areas, and wind-loaded, stiff areas. We did not see any avalanches or experience any cracking, collapsing, or whumpfing. We did not collect any snowpack observations. There is excellent low angle, safe powder skiing to be had if you find routes sheltered from the wind and pay diligent attention to keeping out of avalanche terrain. Stay safe out there.
