- <p>Signifcant snow transport from strong south winds in exposed areas. We only had a couple of cracks, but numerous collapses in the mod </p>
We dug our snowpit in a sheltered lower elevation area curious about 2 things.
- Would we ve able to find buried surface hoar - we could not.
- How reactive would these lower elevation be to our stability tests - it was reactive, but not as reactive as other pit tests in the range.
We observed a thin (<1cm) crust 60cm from the ground. I was not able to determine if this was a sun crust, melt freeze crust, or possibly a very small amount of rain that had fallen at the beginning of a storm.
Snowpack

- <p>While our ECTP24 was not as sensitive as other ECTs in the area, the facets making up the persistent weak layer are pretty ubiquitous and seem like they will continue to be reactive.</p>
New snow was very low density.
East aspects were very wind affected ranging from a thin, unsupportable wind crust to a supportable wind board.
West aspect were dense but soft snow.
