Quick report
Conditions were feeling a lot like springtime on east and south aspects. Surface were moist to wet up to at least 3000'. We dug one pit on an east aspect just below 3000' and did not see anything alarming. We saw a lot of rollerballs from warm temperatures over the past few days, but no recent avalanche activity where we traveled.

Warm, partly cloudy. Winds were light out of the east.
Snowpack
The upper 4" snow was moist to wet on all but the most shaded northerly aspects up to our high point of 3000'. There was a thin melt/freeze crust on the surface that was softening through the day. We found the 2/14 surface hoar layer in some hand pits on the way up. It was about 2-4" deep and was melting where we could find it. We dug one pit at just under 3000', and found the deeper weak layers to be gaining strength. There were no signs for concern in the pit we dug, but we're still paying close attention to that setup.
