Quick report
Parked at and started the ride shortly before the first intersection after the Grave Creek snowmobile TH. Road condition from highway to parking varied from completely barren of snow to icy and spicy. Great riding conditions at and above 5,800ft. Snowmobiles had no problem breaking through a few feet of recent and old snow. At times, riding felt like a warm yet playful powder dream. Skies were mostly sunny in the AM and mostly cloudy in the PM. Despite uncomfortably warm air temperatures, we observed no signs of warming-related instability in the snowpack at our riding elevation. Aside from the unintentionally triggered avalanche, no other signs of instability were observed.
