Quick report

At 300ft on a south aspect, we found strong over weak layering down 30cm where a slab sat over faceted snow that was roughly 5cm thick underneath a thin melt-freeze crust. Test results on a 35-degree slope were repeatable at compression test CT4 with sudden collapse failure and extended column test ECTP10-15 all down 30cm. Below this layer of concern was mostly re-frozen snow that was pencil to knife hard. The temperature was -2C and we saw snow dripping and falling off trees. Skies were broken to overcast and the winds were calm. We saw evidence of old slide debris on an N-aspect at ~3,500ft and signs of old wind scouring and re-depositing.
