Warm mostly foggy day with calm and occasional light wind from the south. Light snow showers in the afternoon but on accumulation.
Snowpack
Surface is saturated followed by 20cm of heavy snow from the last 48 hours. No hand shear results through the day. Signs of wind transported snow near ridges from previous days, but the surface is too saturated to be available for transport at this point.

This was a hard slab avalanche triggered by a skier unintentionally. The avalanche was large enough to partially bury a person. It was triggered in a relatively thin portion of the snowpack and slid on a faceted layer down 60cm. The avalanche occurred on a short but steep slope. The start zone was 37 degrees, the average slope angle was 30 degrees. Crown height averaged 2.5 feet and propagated 100’ across the slope, horizontal run 300’, vertical fall was 120’.
