Quick report

We dug a hasty snow pit. The new sluff from today came off with a couple taps. Then the storm slab at 1-1.5 feet deep collapsed after some taps from the elbow. The cracking did not propagate on an extended column. Everything below the 1-1.5 ft storm slab remained stable We skied Walker’s Bowl, Saddle Chutes, Norse Lake, and Ted’s Buttress keeping to 35° or lower for the most part and did not observe or trigger any avalanches. Snow started coming down strong in the afternoon, after which we stayed entirely in glades.
