Quick report

It would be a long shot to say the Eddys are ready for recreation. However, you can travel on snow if you wish. Near and above treeline on the north half of the compass is where this snow exists.

The day was crisp and cool. Sunny skies gradually grayed over as high clouds aloft rolled in. Temperatures sat above freezing. Solar aspects radiated warmth, with shady aspects holding cooler temperatures. Light winds blew out of the west.

Snowpack

A patchwork of snow begins at 6,000 feet. North aspects harbor far more snow and coverage than south aspects. At 6,800 feet on a northeast aspect, over a foot (35 cm) of snow exists. The surface snow is breakable rain crust. Beneath, is a layer cake of crusts with soft snow trapped in between.
