Quick report

Went to see if the Swan had any more goods than the rest the region and were pleasantly surprised. It had snowed 6-8” overnight and came down hard throughout the day. The Snotel measured 36” when we walked past it and the cars had 3-4” of fresh by the end of the tour! We skied several lines at different aspects and elevations and found a variety of conditions. The crust seemed more noticeable at mid to lower elevations, mostly below 6500’. In these areas, sloughing was prevalent with loose dry snow on top of the crust. This was noted even while skinning but the new snow had not formed slabs and the crust would support a skiers weight. As you got higher and on more northerly aspects, the skiing was actual deep and good! There are definitely still sharks in the water, so ski carefully, but there is good skiing to be found if you hit the right spots!
