Quick report
Against better judgement and advice we took the iced up trail to Skiumah Lake to look for recent avalanche activity. The trail up actually exceeded the low expectations we had going in.
- Observed roughly 20 Wet Loose avalanches that looked to have failed within the last 24 hours. These all occurred on northerly facing aspects. I suspect they all failed yesterday afternoon.
- Found numerous piles of older wet debris on south facing aspects. Possibly failed a few days ago.
- Intermittent rain at 4500 feet that likely reached surrounding ridgelines.
- Surface snow is wet and ski penetration was ankle deep at 4500 feet.

Overcast skies with short periods of light rain. Winds were howling up high but only felt gusts in the valley floor.

We observed one distant crown on a southeast facing aspect. We could not get a view of the debris, so dating it feels nearly impossible.
